OUR CURRICULA
LaVilla School of the Arts offers a vibrant and dynamic band program tailored to nurture students' musical talents and aspirations. Our band curriculum is specifically designed for the student who is focused on the serious study of instrumental music performance.
Concert Band
In their inaugural year, 6th-grade students embark on an enriching journey with Concert Band, meticulously crafted for first-year band enthusiasts. Here, budding musicians are guided through the rudiments of their chosen instruments, laying a solid foundation for their musical odyssey.

Concert Band orchestrates two concerts per academic year, captivating audiences during both the fall and spring semesters.
Symphonic Band
Building on the skills acquired in Concert Band, Symphonic Band is tailored for second- and third-year students.
Throughout the year, Symphonic Band students shine in approximately five performances, including the FBA Festival.
Aspiring to greater heights, every Symphonic Band member auditions for the District Honor Band and participates in the FBA Solo and Ensemble event.
Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is an advanced performing group that challenges our most dedicated students with difficult literature. This advanced ensemble challenges its members with demanding repertoire, pushing the boundaries of their musical aptitude.
With approximately five concerts annually, Wind Ensemble students demonstrate their virtuosity, including the annual FBA Festival. All Wind Ensemble members take part in the FBA Solo and Ensemble event and audition for coveted spots in both the All-State Band and District Honor Band.
Other Ensembles
In addition to their primary ensemble commitments, LaVilla band students partake in a diverse array of supplementary courses, enriching their musical education.
Students explore various facets of musical expression, including Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Chamber Ensemble, fostering versatility and depth in their craft.
